What is a Retractable Screen?
If you are looking for a discreet screen when not in use, a retractable may be your answer! For those not familiar with retractable screens, they are insect screens that disappear into a compact housing that doesn’t interfere with your existing door functioning. You only have a screen for your door when you need it. The screen is easily and smoothly extended from the housing to a simple magnetic latch and easily retracts with the aid of a spring-loaded roller tube inside the unit housing. Homeowners like that they offer a clean unobstructed view of the landscape or vistas through windows and doors.
How large of an opening can you cover?
We have options for almost every size opening! Our ‘Large Opening’ retractable units can span openings 14 feet wide (and 10’ tall) and a single unit or 28’ wide in double configuration (one 14’ unit on each side of the opening latching in the middle). Our smaller opening retractable screens span up to 64” wide (108” tall) for a single unit and over 10ft in a double configuration.
Do they come in different colors?
Yes, we have many standard colors including white, linen cream, sandalwood, multiple grays and browns, black plus 18 “Diamond Series” colors to ensure a good match with your house and trim colors.
Are there different screen mesh options?
Yes, while standard insect mesh is the most common for screen rooms to maximize airflow, we have several options based on your needs!
How easy are Retractable Screens to take care of?
Easy! Mesh: Wash with mild soap and warm water once a year or as needed. Dry completely before retracting. - Tracks: Vacuum debris and wipe clean regularly. Lubrication: Use silicone spray on tracks after cleaning. Retract when not in use and keep screens retracted during storms or strong winds.
What is the warranty on the product?
Mirage proudly provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original purchaser, covering parts and workmanship defects under normal residential use where defective parts will be repaired or replaced at no charge (labor excluded).
